I am by far the most likely to win the A and E contest. Although I didn't have a good variety of sentences, I had a very influential person. I am very happy with how well choosing Robert Sacre went. At the time that I chose him I was worried he would not be as inspirational as he is. He has been very influential, and now everyone will now. This gives my essay a very unfair advantage. I believe I should win the essay contest because of my wise selection of inspirational people.
On September 26 the number of American casualties in Afghanistan reached 2,000. This goes to show how war can distort human relationships. Normally we could have found a way to negotiate. However when war started casualty numbers continuously rose until they reached 2,000. The sniper also shows how war can distort human relationships as the main character shoots his brother.
The sniper relates to Sunday, Bloody Sunday because they both show how human relations can be distorted through war. Sunday, bloody Sunday is directed at all the families who were victims of bloody Sunday. The families who were victim to bloody Sunday were killed for questioning the government and pushing for their rights. In the sniper the main character shoots his brother because he was a target. If the main character had known that he was shooting his brother he may not have done it, however at the time he pulled the trigger his brother was just another target. Sunday bloody Sunday and the sniper are good example of how war can distort human relationships
The sniper and the story of Pat Tilman are very similar. The stories connect with the idea of friendly fire. Although the sniper was shooting at his brother, it still was like friendly fire, as he may not have killed his brother if he had known it was him. In Pat Tilman's case the people in the vehicle were shooting at their own men, without knowing it, and killed them. The two stories are similar with the idea of friendly fire.
In history many people have discrimated. Some forms of discrimation are about ethnicity. As humans we cannot help but tell that people are different. However some people start judging others for being different. This is not good, but sometimes we judge people to be better at something because of their ethnicity. For example it is commonly said that african american men and women are the best athletes of all.

This article talks about how we sent a satelite to orbit venus. This reminded me of the story because the story took place on Venus. Also the article talked about how the clouds were very dense. This would explain the rain in the story. Unfortunately this satelite could not prove life on venus exists. All summer in a day and George's secret key to the universe were similar stories. They both contained the idea of interplanetary travel. In George's secret key to the universe they travel around space and in All summer in a day they are in space on Venus. Also George and Margot were both bullied for being different. George was good at science and a nerd and Margot was from Earth.
All summer in a day and the untouchable mean girls had many connections. Both Margot and Phoebe were bullied for being different and for having something the bullies wanted. Margot was new to her school on Venus and the other children did not like her differences. Phoebe was new to america and her high school as well which the other students did not like. Also Phoebe had a relationship with a football player which all the other girls were jealous of. The children of Venus were jealous of Margot because she had seen the sun multiple times before on Earth and she was moving back to earth.
