The demand for fresh water is going up and the amount of fresh water is going down. In the article I read about desalination plants the issues are that reverse osmosis, the current method for desalination, is too expensive and inefficient. I think that the answer is to promote more government funding towards these plants, and the use of solar energy in these plants. If the government funds these plants and exports the water created, the world would have more than enough water because seawater takes up the majority of the world, also the governments could raise taxes by as little as 1 percent and this would hugely impact the amount of the plants we could build.
